Exploration #4: Accidental Art
Exploring the unintentional art in the world around us 10/27/21

For this exploration, I wanted to focus on the unintentional creations in the world around us, or for lack of a better word the Art that is left behind. However since so many of my observations have been based on sight I wanted to focus on another way that we see the world, touch. Many of our favorite memories are associated with one or more of our senses: for instance, the smell of a summer night campfire or a song you memorized the lyrics to with a childhood friend. So much of our world is done through feeling, and it is something many of us forget. We explore through our five senses and accidental art often leaves traces of feelings behind. Sticky residue, rough rust, tacky paint, filmy layers of burnt oil. We can often see these things, but it isn't always enough to see. Life and art can be explored in so many other ways than just seeing.
Exploration #5:Temporary Materials
Exploring what art can be made from 11/5/2021

For this exploration, I focused on something I have always been intrigued with. And that is what art is made of, typically one thinks of intrinsically artistic materials to create with. which I personally think is a waste because art can be made out of anything, and materials can be limiting in their own way. I played around with different ways to make art out of things that are temporary, meaning once I was finished it would be wiped away. Lipstick kisses, a portrait out of spices, one out of chocolate on an apple. I even carved one into a radish. Art can be anything, it is everywhere around us, and you can be inspired from everywhere, in fact, I found more inspiration from deciding what to turn the world around me into than I have sitting on a canvas.
