Big Idea: Illusion
Project Description:
For our second class, students will create there own illusions utilizing one-point perspective. We will recap one-point perspective and how it can used to show space and depth and we will look at some examples from artist such as Maurits Cornelis Escher as well as other artist to see how they utilize these skills in there practice. Katrina will show her teacher an example of work and lead a step by step demonstration on how to complete the assignment.
Essential Understanding
The essential understanding for this project is for students to go further into depth and space and utilize those skill to create a basic illusion.
Intended Outcomes
Students will be able to utilize one point perspective to to create depth within a space
Students will be able to\ differentiate areas that are concaving and conveying using color and line spacing
Skills
The skills the students are working towards are:
Practice how to utilize tools such as rulers and ideation sheets
How to communicate observations with justification
How students can utilize curved lines to imply depth

Documentation:

One of the main things that I would change if I was to do this assignment next time is how we delegate materials. While I was glad that Ms. England was happy to let us use her materials, most of the markers were dead and so it turned a two minute process in selecting colors into a fifteen minute process. There was also the issue that the students did not know where any of the materials were (scissors, glue, ect.)
